I can't really sum it up in a few simple words. I've seen people and places, both better and worse. Don't have grand statements, just balanced discourse. Don't you see, your starry eyed pontification's not interesting to me? Don't you see? I don't care if we both stay or if we leave. Take or leave this town, but leave your stories out.

Stop me if you've heard this before... I've got pictures in a drawer. I'm not exactly where I wanted to be, but there are upsides to my downfall. You got exactly what I wanted before who am I to be critical? All I'll say is pride's a funny thing. You girls are too little. You guys are too much. I'm out of town, I'm out of time, out of touch. Honestly, I can't win for the life of me. I don't save the day. I don't get the girl. My ship, it has sailed. I've missed my cue. I'm as Strung Out as Cruz, but that's nothing new. You guys are too little. You girls are too much. I'm out of town, I'm out of time, out of touch. Honestly, I can't win for the life of me. I don't save the day. I don't get the girl.

So come around mine, say my name one last time. Take my hand you're out of reach But you know me... I'm a fucking leech. What was I fighting for again? What was I fighting for again? I can't tell are we enemies or friends? What was I fighting for again? Because in my eyes Grangetown Sunrise is looking fine. So call a fucking cop, at least I was underneath this bridge and not on top. What was I fighting for again? What was I fighting for again? I can't tell are we enemies or friends? What was I fighting for again?

Old Enemies 02:14
Looking back, it's pretty fucking clear to see how my old enemies represent the different sides of me. My friends and I all help each other stop being so melancholic. That's hard when we're all burned out, balding junkie alcoholics. Remember when I followed you home to make sure you got back safe. You were angry. You caught me alone in the rain. Still so pissed off with me. Just because I write all these songs about misery, doesn't mean that's what I wanted for me. 2013 was one hell of a year for me. Now every time I don't fuck up, I call that a victory. Where's Cali when you need her. All that I've got left is dregs. I'm standing here alone. She's literally walking home on broken legs. Just because I write all these songs about misery, doesn't mean that's what I wanted for me. Now I only write songs about history. Because that's all I can see.

Escher's slinky is less up and down. Carla was the prom queen but she's been out of town. This year's an open album of broken minds and broken bones. Did she really mean it when she said I don't? Escher's slinky is less up and down. Carla was the prom queen but she's been out of town. This year's an open album of broken minds and broken bones. Did she really mean it when she said I Don't know how we got here? Carla was the prom queen. We haven't spoken in years. I'm Danny the champion. I'm Danny the chump. I'm on top of the world, I think I might jump.
